All this history of Aberdeen Karate club but yet still no mention of Sensei KANAZAWA who as far as I am aware was the first Japanese Sensei to instruct in Aberdeen and with whom I did most of my 1st courses and gradings.A truly great man who taught with efficiency and Kindness, unlike some other Japanese Senseis, who could and did throw their weight around, in my opinion, cruelly, not to me b.t.w.George Douglas Snr.
As far as I am aware John anderson was the 1st man to successfully introduce Karate to Aberdeen at the Budokwai Judo club, where he taught until getting a "dojo" in Torry school in Grampian Road Aberdeen where he would teach at evenings and the weekends.
I introduced Ronnie Watt and Brian Bothwell to Karate at the "Budokwai Judo" club with John Anderson as sensei in 1965.
